Southwick Elementary in Indiana was on academic probation in 2010. NUA began a program of teacher professional development with Southwick and other targeted East Allen County Schools in 2007 which produced these results:
- In 2010, the school achieved 100 percent in all categories (21 out of 21) to make Adequate Yearly Progress.
- This was an increase by 85.9 percent compared to 2009, when the school achieved only two out of 21 categories.
