Norman L. Merrifield is a native son of Bloomington, Indiana but now resides in Nashville, TN. Mr. Merrifield is a graduate of Tennessee State University and the SAE Institute School of Audio Engineering. As an elementary and secondary teacher for the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools he designed several nationally acclaimed learning strategies and produced multiple educational hip hop recordings. Mr. Merrifield is currently a mentor with the NUA and is becoming well known for his high impact, motivational style of presentations.
Mr. Merrifield is a unique strategy specialist providing high quality professional development with the NUA that focus on increasing student engagement. His original strategies connect curriculum content with popular styles of music and student culture, making learning relevant and engaging. These sessions encourage and empower teachers to build strong meaningful relationships with students.
