The NUA/Newark Public Schools (NPS) Initiative is a dynamic and collaborative project rooted in the deep commitment of leaders and teachers to meet the changing needs of NPS high school students in Newark’s 15 high schools. The rich tapestry woven from the fiber of the racial and ethnically diverse student population provides the perfect frame of reference for NUA’s Pedagogy of Confidence.

Championed by dedicated district-level leadership, NUA is honored to return to Newark Public Schools to partner with each of NPS’ 15 high schools to provide site-level services and support to the students, teachers, department chairs and administrators in the following learning communities:

American History High School
Bard High School Early College
Central High School
Eagle Academy for Young Men
East Side High School
Newark Arts High School
Malcolm X Shabazz
Newark Evening High School
Newark Vocational High School
Science Park High School
Technology High School
University High School
Weequahic High School
West Side High School

Through a four-strand approach, we offer 1) site-level mentorship for classroom teachers, 2) site-level support for teacher leaders (department chairs), 3) insight and guidance for school administrators, and 4) leadership development through our Student Voice Initiatives, tailored to meet the individual needs of our target-schools.

Through a laser focus on The Pedagogy of Confidence, we stand committed to doing our part as we work alongside the diverse stakeholders of NPS to contribute to the strong culture of achievement, passion and progress, that defines Newark Public Schools.
