Sheila Fridovich, MA has worked as a speech pathologist, language consultant, and educational specialist. She has co-authored a test battery for kindergarten and first grade students which evaluates language and perceptual motor skills and is widely used in the state of Maryland. She has conducted professional development activities in numerous states addressing Title 1 issues affecting urban students. She retired from Prince George’s County Public Schools in 2000.
Mrs. Fridovich is particularly interested in the interrelationship between language, culture, intelligence, and achievement. She believes that strategies that enhance language development will directly affect the other areas.
Mrs. Fridovich has degrees from Hunter College and the University of Maryland. She has degrees in Speech Pathology, Audiology, and Education. She belongs to the IRA,ASCD, and NEA. She has taught at Bowie State University, Catholic University, and the University of Maryland.
Mrs. Fridovich has served as a consultant to the Maryland State Department of Education as well as for several school systems in Maryland. She has served as a mentor for the National Urban Alliance for Effective Education since 1998. She has presented at many national conferences of IRA and ASCD.
