- Teachers identify students below grade level based on criteria.
- Students will be called The Collective.
During Boundary Sessions:
- Teachers will develop an accelerated and intensified plan for helping students in the "collective".
- The goal is for each student to show at least 2 years growth for each full year of instruction.
- NUA strategies that have been presented during previous years will be utilized.
- Teachers will bring student work to the boundary sessions to show progress.
- The students' work will be analyzed and successful strategies will be shared.
- Small groups of teachers will problem solve and develop alternative plans to reach students not showing progress.
- Besides the review of the NUA strategies and ensuring the provision of a balanced reading program, classroom organization and management will also be a focus of the boundary sessions.
